Powerball Jackpot Hits $905 Million-Tonight's Drawing Could Make History

Last updated: August 10, 2026 | Published by: Yansib Lottery News

The Powerball jackpot has skyrocketed to a staggering $905 million for tonight's Monday drawing, August 10, 2026, after no ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday's draw. This marks the largest lottery prize of 2026 and ranks as the eighth-largest jackpot in Powerball history.

Tonight's Powerball Draw Details

  • Date: Monday, August 10, 2026
  • Draw Time: 10:59 PM ET / 6:59 PM PT
  • Estimated Jackpot: $905,000,000
  • Cash Option: $391,900,000 (lump sum)
  • Next Draw: Wednesday, August 12, 2026

Saturday's Results — No Winner, Jackpot Grows

The previous Powerball drawing on Saturday, August 8, 2026 produced winning numbers 5-9-35-54-63 with a Powerball of 7 and a Power Play multiplier of 3X.

While no one claimed the $856 million jackpot — the largest prize of the year at the time — several players still won big:

  • One ticket in Texas matched all five white balls with the Power Play option, winning $2 million.
  • Four tickets in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, and New York each won $1 million by matching the five white numbers.
  • 44 tickets matched four white balls plus the Powerball, winning $50,000 each — 12 of those included Power Play and paid $150,000.

Jackpot Run Reaches 43 Draws

No ticket has claimed the Powerball jackpot since May 2, 2026, when two players in Florida and Texas split a $20 million prize. Tonight's drawing marks the 43rd consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner.

The $905 million prize ranks as the eighth-richest in Powerball history dating back to 1992, and the 15th largest all-time across U.S. lottery games.

What Would a Winner Receive?

If someone wins tonight's $905 million jackpot, they have two payout options:

  1. Annuity: 30 graduated payments over 29 years — total $905 million
  2. Cash Option: A lump-sum payment of approximately $391.9 million

Both options are prior to federal and state tax withholdings. Some states, including California and Texas, do not tax lottery winnings.

Powerball Expands to the United Kingdom

This historic jackpot run comes as Powerball tickets became available in the United Kingdom for the first time last month through an agreement between the Multi-State Lottery Association and Allwyn UK, the owner of the country's National Lottery.

"Whenever a new lottery or large player base joins the game, it can contribute to faster jackpot growth," said a Multi-State Lottery Association spokesperson.

How to Play Powerball

Powerball costs $2 per play. Players select five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls, then one number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball.

5 $1,000,000
4 + Powerball $50,000
4 $100
3 + Powerball $100
3 $7
2 + Powerball $7
1 + Powerball $4
0 + Powerball $4

Optional Add-Ons

  • Power Play® (+$1): Multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X. The Match 5 prize with Power Play is always $2 million.
  • Double Play® (+$1): A separate drawing with a top cash prize of $10 million, available in participating jurisdictions.

Where Is Powerball Played?

Powerball is available in 45 U.S. states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and — since July 2026 — the United Kingdom.
